Parenzana Multimedia  Postcard

In the period from 1902. until 1935. in Istria there were a railroad called Parenzana which connect Poreč with Trieste. Because the railway was passed through a very picturesque region of Istria, the need for some kind of revitalization of the route emerged. This is reason why is the County of Istria, in cooperation with their Slovenian counterparts, and with the help of European funds, managed to rebuild nearly the entire route. But this time this route no longer runs train, but cyclists and pedestrians. From the old railway line remained many traces like bridges, viaducts, tunnels and preserved stations buildings. Places like Poreč, Visnjan, Vižinada, Motovun, Oprtalj, Buje and so on, are just some of the about thirty stations of old Parenzana. To these fairy Istrian towns and cities revitalization of Parenzana mean more additional tourism and attraction rating.

 

Janus Multimedia d.o.o. according to order Dept. of Tourism Istria was produced a special edition of multimedia postcard - Parenzana multimediapostcard ®. The application itself offers the ultimate interactive experience that takes you through the introduction Parenzana, before and now.
So, you will be able to travel through history thanks to the timeline, to learn about in detail all attractions and destinations that are located along the route, explore the route on map or by station, find out what you can see or do in the area, and how to  approach route by car or bike.
All 35 stations have textual descriptions, and there is over 500 fullscreen images. Each of destinations you can put in your own personalized itinerary, which can be printed or saved to your mobile phone. It is also possible to print maps and old historical photos. In the Fun Zone you can play likable games, send e-cards to friends or set wallpapers with Parenzana motives.

Except in the form of multimedia DVD-ROM card, the application is adapted for use at info kiosks that are placed at specific locations along the route. This way it is possible in to meet with the field this fresh interactive product from Janus multimedia workshop even on the fiel.
